Detroit melody queen Chitra Sridhar

The name Chitra Sridhar is not new for many local Detroit music lovers. Chitra has mesmerized her fans with a singing range and talent unprecedented in the Michigan Indian community. A classically trained musician since the age of 4, Chitra has enthralled her audience all across the United States.

With the Carnatic music background, Chitra currently performs live and Karaoke shows.A sought after singer, Chitra has traveled as far as Chicago, St Louis, Cleveland, Indiana, Florida,Iowa, Buffalo, Toronto, and many more places.She sings for a variety of occasions like birthdays , weddings , charity events like for ASHA , CRY and regional associations like Gujarati Samaj, Marathi Mandal and MAIFS ,Detroit Malayalee Association in Detroit.

Chitra Sridhar's strengths involve a sweet,melodious voice and tremendous versatility to adapt to different variety of songs like the lilting melodies of the yesteryears. She sings both the classic and legendary Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhonsle numbers as well as the upbeat songs of Sunidhi Chauhan and Shreya Ghoshal with the same aptitude and ease.

Chitra has shared stage with legendary artists from South India like the Melody Queen P Suseela and Smt. Jamuna Rani.She also had the opportunity to sing with many artists from across United States like Hitesh Master from Chicago, the well known Dhwanit Joshi from Washington DC,ace drummer Kalyan Pathak from Chicago and many more.
