Friends of Bihar and Jharkhand in Michigan is a non-profit forum that strives for diversity. This website is additionally,a platform to preserve and promote the social and cultural heritage of Bihar and Jharkhand. Bihar and Jharkhand has a rich history and the contributions of the people from this land are innumerable. Lately, all the news coming from Bihar and Jharkhand have been negative and depressing. There is no doubt that these states have hit a very rough times but, it is also true that both are fast on their way to normalcy. Unfortunately, all good press from Bihar and Jharkhand is often brushoff and ignored. www.mibihar.com is born partly to bust all the stereotypes that surrounds Bihar and Jharkhand. It is launched to bring to the mainstream the accomplishments and achievements of these two states. Bihar and Jharkhand has a rich, cultural history. In August of 2008, Bihar suffered with what is called the worst flood of the decade. The overflow of the Kosi River and the subsequent breach of the embankment caused massive flooding, affecting about 2.3 million lives in the state. Many lives were lost and many completely uprooted. Bihar government reported the official death toll to be around 1500. Those who survived this harrowing fate faced further challenges of fighting disease and hunger. The daunting task of rebuilding their lives from scratch was what lay ahead for millions of these people in Bihar. At this moment of dire need, around 150 Bihari families from the local community joined hands to help their home state at this time of national crisis. A massive fundraiser got underway under some really take-charge, motivated leaders. With the generous support from the local Indian communities and associations, this motivated group collected around $5000. The fund was then donated to the people of Bihar through credited NGOs working in Bihar and Jharkhand. This must needed lifeline helped the government of Bihar to supply food, water, blankets and medicine to the poor and the needy. This story is the story of the unsung heroes. These unsung heroes are the enterprising group of people with a loving, compassionate heart. People of Bihar and Jharkhand in Michigan rallied once again, to help their fellow human beings. This group has always been involved in many similar gestures of kindness and selflessness. Unfortunately, not all the stories of these people are reported neither are their numerous contributions to the local Michigan community. The people of Bihar and Jharkhand are a powerful, positive and productive force to reckon with. Currently, there are approximately 300 people from Bihar and Jharkhand residing in Michigan. They are of all religions, age groups and of all professions. The common bond between them is their connection to the glorious states of Bihar and Jharkhand. Our website ‘Friends of Bihar and Jharkhand in Michigan’ gives these hardworking and talented people their very own portal to meet and share their accolades with the rest of the world. The uniqueness of this website is that we promote united India and a stronger United States of America with the same fervor as united and strong Bihar and Jharkhand.

Buddhist QuoteAbout KISHANGANJ,BIHAR A Muslim majority district, Kishanganj is situated in the North East part of Bihar, bordering West Bengal, Bangladesh and Nepal. During the period of Khagada Nawab, Mohammed Fakiruddin, one hindu saint arrived, he was tired and wanted to rest at this place, but when he heard that this place name is Alamganj, the river name is Ramzan and the Jamindar name is Fakiruddin, he refused to enter at Alamganj.
After that the Nawab decided and announced some portion from Kishanganj Gudri to Ramzan pool gandhi ghat as Krishna Kunj. As time passed by the name gets converted to present KISHANGANJ The Ramzan river crosses through the middle of the town, which adds more attraction to the beauty of the city. |
